Taekwon-do is Korean art of self defence and was introduced to the UK in 1966.
Our association, GTUK, is part of the the International Taekwon-do Federation (ITF), and is affiliated to the British Taekwon-do Council (BTC).
Taekwon-do is similar in many ways to Karate, using hand and foot techniques. However, being quite a modern martial art, only starting in 1955, it has been developed using scientific principles of physiology and anatomy to maximise strength and power.
You will progressively build up your level of fitness and improve your flexibility and balance. Kids, in particular, benefit from improved coordination and concentration. Everyone will gain in confidence and self belief.
